International Media Excursion Tour 2011

                                        Presentation Observations

Martina Kollig of Makopress and Andre Rauen

Martina and Andre have and run their business/house and we were able to visit and see how small mom and pop business works.
  • Visited a family run PR/tech services business In Koblentz
  • Martina's wise words: Networking is extremely important, and you must go to many enterprises to get clients
  • Discussed balancing family and work
  • Andre talked about how Germany consumerism is not as prevalent as the US, so Germans would be considered late adapters to technology
This was the first real small/local business we visited so it was especially helpful to compare where it seemed their are a different set of challenges and benefits
